HP Mid-Himalayan Watershed Development Project is an integrated multisectoral Watershed Development Project. It is being implemented in Mid Hills and High Hill zone of Himachal Pradesh with the assistence of the World Bank. The Project become operative in 10 districts of the state from oct 2005 and will cover 602 Gram Panchayats of 42 Development Blocks.

The Project builds on the successes of Integrated Watershed Development Project (IWDP), KANDI PROJECT which culminated on 30th September, 2005 and covered the Shivalik area of Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh MHDWP is following an integrated, multi-sectoral watershed development approaches with bottom-up planning, suitable to the local conditions.
